Does America have more lovers than haters? That's the crucial question for the citizens of the republic to our south, now and into the future.
Spewing venom, their president outdid himself last week. Like a kind of Frankenstein unloosed, he dominated the news cycle, other crucial matters left abandoned. We watched, shocked. Me, too. I watched three straight nights of CNN. Evil before our eyes becomes wickedly irresistible.
The scorn he heaped on four congresswomen, the insulting language used, the disregard for truth, and the lack of a smidgen of respect for American institutions, all gave us a fresh and frightening picture of a demagogue at the helm.
